Hmmm…this myth is designed to appeal to prospects who don’t want to work too hard (at anything) …the “get rich quick”, “time poor”, and just plain lazy prospect. It is also designed to appeal to the prospect who isn’t quite convinced the business will work…they’ll just ‘take it for test drive’ for a few hours here and there, to see how it goes.

MLM Myth #7

Crash and Burn comes to mind. Again, think about this logically.

Every person who steps into this industry for the first time (especially if they have no previous business experience of any kind), is faced with a massive learning curve. No exaggeration, it is huge. Less a curve, and more of a sheer, vertical rock face in fact.

And that’s okay. But there is only one way to learn, apply and master new skills, and that is with dedication and time. And you will need to be prepared to devote lots of it to your new business.

Now, if you honestly only have as little as seven hours a week, and you are truly devoted to your business success, then you simply have to start where you are at, and you will succeed over time. But this is the exception not the rule. Most people with such limited time will get frustrated if they do not see faster results and will exit the race.

There may be one exception to this statement, and that is if you have the capital to outsource your business set up, and your lead generation. But in any event, you will still need to invest the time in learning how to deal with your business once it has been set up and is running. In fact we would personally advise against outsourcing until you have learnt the business yourself.  This way you can be confident you know what you want and what to expect when you outsource.

Now, many companies use top earner testimonials in their marketing and promotion, with claims they earn basquillions of dollars per month working only 10 hours a week…

But firstly, without exception, all of the top earners in this industry have dedicated a serious amount of time to learning their new business, getting set up, and then running hard.

And it may be true that they have relaxed the pace a little enjoying the fruits of a leveraged business system that pays them ongoing. Or it may be true that they started part time, but to become a top earner almost always requires something close to full time dedication, replacing your previous source of income.

But we know that people who are inclined to go hard to make that kind of money in the first instance, are not likely to be happy sitting back. They are more likely to be planning , training and working hard to ‘take their business to the next level’. It is the nature of the entrepreneurial beast.

So, if you do not have the time to invest in building your business, or you are not inclined to spend the time it takes to build a profitable long term business, then you should reconsider your motivation for stating a business to begin with..
